In this world of running errands to accumulate money, full of frustration, huzzle buzzle where time is an important factor and therefore stress is a repetitive word. Stress is a psychological term. Stress applies to people’s mentality at a specific task or emotion associated with it. Stress differs with respect to personal attributes of a person. Stress in general is associated with men who keep themselves engaged with a variety of task and hence occupied with deep emotional battles.



Signs of stress may be cognitive, emotional, physical or behavioral. Signs include poor judgment, a general negative outlook , excessive worrying, moodiness, irritability, agitation, inability to relax, feeling lonely, isolated or depressed, aches and pains, diarrhea or constipation, nausea, dizziness, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, eating too much or slaapproblemen (sleeping problem), social withdrawal, procrastination or neglect of responsibilities, increased alcohol, nicotine or drug consumption, and nervous habits such as pacing about, nail-biting and neck pains.



Stress is the result of resistance to a particular stimulus. Responses of stress include adaptation, stress management, anxiety and depression which effects on the general health of the body resulting in illness. Stress is such a life threaded disease that it can even serve as an initiative to suicide. Stress in addition affects the body’s immune system, and the lack of immunity serves to be the host of all kinds of germ breeds within the body. One simple and natural way to stress verminderen (reduce stress) is walking. Besides walking, efforts should be taken to keep yourself calm and cool at any situation, meditation may help greatly to it.



Because of the widespread damage stress can cause, it’s important to know your own limit. But just how much stress is "too much" differs from person to person. Some people roll with the punches, while others crumble at the slightest obstacle or frustration. Some people even seem to thrive on the excitement and challenge of a high-stress lifestyle. Your ability to tolerate stress depends on many factors, including the quality of your relationships, your general outlook on life, your emotional intelligence, and genetics.



Two factors apply to the cause of stress, namely the external factors and the internal factors. The external factors include:



  1. Major life changes


  2. Work


  3. Relationship difficulties


  4. Financial problems


  5. Being too busy


  6. Children and family




The internal factors include:



  1. Inability to accept uncertainty


  2. Pessimism


  3. Negative self-talk


  4. Unrealistic expectations


  5. Perfectionism


  6. Lack of assertiveness




Be it an external factor or and internal factor it is just in the hands of the stressor to manage it. You may feel like the stress in your life is out of your control, but you can always control the way you respond. Managing stress is all about taking charge: taking charge of your thoughts, your emotions, your schedule, your environment, and the way you deal with problems. Stress management involves changing the stressful situation when you can, changing your reaction when you can’t, taking care of yourself, and making time for rest and relaxation.
